REGULAR MEETING OF THE CHIPPEWA TOWNSHIP BOARD
October 2, 2017
Supervisor Smith called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

PREVIOUS MINUTES
Motion by Quakenbush, supported by Huber, approve minutes of September 5, 2017.
Motion carried.
TREASURER'S REPORT
Motion by Ash, supported by Huber, to approve the treasurer’s report of Oct. 2, 2017 balance of $1,747,937.26 and overall balance of $2,302,863.49.
Roll call vote—Yes: Ash, Smith, Quakenbush, Gill, Huber; No: None.
Motion unanimously carried.
Treasurer Gill had to leave the meeting.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Public comment was held.
Chuck Mullins from APM Mosquito Control gave a summary of the 2017 spraying season.
Motion by Ash, supported by Quakenbush, to approve the 2018 mosquito spraying contract with APM Mosquito Control at a cost of $77,390.00.
Roll call vote—Yes: Huber, Smith, Quakenbush, Ash; No: None.
Motion unanimously carried.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
VALLEY RD
ZA Bebee stated the private road maintenance agreement will be ready for the board to review at the next meeting.
COMMERCIAL PARK
Supervisor Smith reported there is nothing to report on the land offer.
NEW BUSINESS
ZONING ADMINISTRATOR TIM BEBEE
ZA Bebee gave his report.
The Master Plan subcommittee didn’t go through the sign ordinance section while working on the Master Plan. The current sign ordinance doesn’t address gas stations. The township board directed Bebee to have the Master Plan subcommittee meet and go through the sign ordinance and other ordinances that were not already reviewed.
Motion by Ash, supported by Huber, to have the Master Plan subcommittee review the sign ordinance and any other ordinances that have not already been reviewed. The subcommittee will be paid the hourly rate as before.

PAY THE BILLS
Motion by Quakenbush, supported by Huber, to pay the bills.

OTHER
Clerk Ash stated the old township hall on Remus Rd. needs power washed. She contacted the company who cleans the hall’s windows and an approximate cost would be $150.00.
Motion by Ash, supported by Quakenbush, to pay A Lot of Clean to power wash the old township hall.
