CHIPPEWA TOWNSHIP PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
August 14, 2023 Minutes
Call to Order 7:00 pm
Present: Bob Wetherbee, Matt Flegel, Dave Clark, Susan Gates (Chair), Monica Richer, Rod Reid, Brian Schantz, ZA Bebee.
Pledge of Allegiance.
Minutes Approval of July 10, 2023; motion by Reid, second by Clark. All in favor. Motion carried.
Public Hearing regarding Camelot Lake: Individuals are seeking Chippewa Township to change text
amendment for Lake Residential Ordinance from 5 acre lots to 1 acre lots.
Chair Gates opened PH at 7:05pm.
Correspondence:
Chair Gates read letters from people who live on Camelot Lake who were unable
to attend the meeting. All letters were not in agreement with the text amendment change.

Jim Conroy, 3970 SE Co Line Rd.
Bob Mills, 11285 N Lake Side Trail
Matt Moguliske, 11561 S LakeSide Trail
Ed Pucsak, 11475 N Lake Side Trail
Maria Meier, 11810 N Lake Side Trail
The above residents all voiced in agreement for not changing anything.
Gary Pyles, 2395 S Wise Rd, Mt Pleasant
Jason Pyles, 11523 N Lake Side Trail, changed his request from 9.45 acres to 2 four acre splits.
ZA explained the PC cannot make that decision. Association will always have the final say.
Chair Gates closed the public hearing at 7:30pm.
Motion by Wetherbee to table any decision until Health Department reports have been returned.
Unanimous "Yes" roll call vote. Item tabled.
Old Business:
Public Hearing for Solar.
Chair Gates opened PH at 7:55pm and closed PH at 7:56pm.
Motion by Gates, second by Schantz, to recommend to the Township Board to approve the Solar Zoning Ordinance after review by the township attorney.
Unanimous "Yes" roll call vote.
New Business:
ZA has had 2 requests for venues. Discussion by board on what ZA will put in the venue ordinance and ZA will forward it to the township attorney.
Handout by ZA of Site Plan Review for the new township hall parking lot. ZA wants approval by the board to apply online for permits.
Motion by Reid, second by Flegel, to approve site plan for Chippewa Township hall parking lot as presented.
Unanimous "Yes" roll call vote. Motion carried.

Motion by Schantz, second by Flegel , to adjourn. All in favor. Motion carried.
