January 2, 2023
Supervisor Smith called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.

Motion by VanderKolk, supported by Ash, to approve meeting minutes of Dec.5, 2022.
Motion carried.
TREASURER'S REPORT
Motion by Ash, supported by VanderKolk, to approve the treasurer’s report of Jan. 2, 2023, balance of $2,266,332.75 and overall balance of $3,132,562.04.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS
FIREHALL ELECTRICAL UPGRADE
Tabled until February meeting.
Supervisor Smith hasn’t been able to obtain two more quotes.
NEW BUSINESS
ZONING ADMINISTRATOR TIM BEBEE
Bebee was not in attendance.
2023 MEETING CALENDAR
Motion by VanderKolk, supported by Ash, to approve the 2023 meeting calendar.

BANK SIGNATURES
Jan Gill has resigned as deputy treasurer. Susan Gates is the new deputy treasurer.
Motion by VanderKolk, supported by Ash, to approve Resolution 2023-03 to remove Jan Gill as signer from all bank accounts, add Susan Gates to all bank accounts, and add deputy clerk, Timothy Ash, as signer on all bank accounts where he is not already a signer. Kathy VanderKolk and Fran Ash will remain as signers on all accounts.

BUDGET MEETING
Motion by VanderKolk, supported by Ash, to hold the annual budget meeting immediately following the 7 p.m. March regular board meeting.

2023 MILEAGE RATE
Motion by Ash, supported by VanderKolk, to approve the 2023 federal mileage rate of 65.5 cents.

PATROL CD
In January 1998 there was a 3-year contract to fund a sheriff patrol in the township. The contract was not renewed. The township used a maturing CD to pay the township’s portion of the patrol expense. The board agreed on June 6, 2005, that the CD for patrol was no longer needed and should be included with other “regular CD’s.
Motion by VanderKolk, supported by Ash, to approve Resolution 2023-02 that the commitment of the “patrol CD” (101-000-003.100) to public safety (sheriff patrol of the township) be removed.

POVERTY EXEMPTION
Motion by Ash, supported by VanderKolk, to approve Resolution 2023-01, 2023 Policy and Guidelines for Property Tax Poverty Exemptions.

BOARD OF REVIEW TRAINING
Motion by Ash, supported by VanderKolk, for the Board of Review members to attend BOR training either virtually or in-person at the Comfort Inn, Mt Pleasant, on February 22nd.
