REGULAR MEETING OF THE CHIPPEWA TOWNSHIP BOARD
July 5, 2022
Supervisor Smith called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Present: Rob Smith, Fran Ash, Kathy VanderKolk, Michelle Quakenbush, Gail Huber.
PREVIOUS MINUTES
Motion by VanderKolk, supported by Huber, to approve regular meeting minutes of June 5, 2022, with the addition that the Planning Commission will submit a written annual report to the board at the January 2023 meeting.
Motion carried.
TREASURER'S REPORT
Motion by Ash, supported by VanderKolk, to approve the treasurer’s report of July 5, 2022, balance of $2,168,734.85 and overall balance of $3,033,960.36.

ZONING ADMINSTRATOR – TIM BEBEE
Bebee was absent.
ELECTION WORKERS
Motion by Ash, supported by VanderKolk, to pay thirteen election inspectors $15/hour and two chairpersons $18/hour for the August 2nd primary election.

DEERFIELD RD
The Isabella Road Commission wants to grind and pave Deerfield Rd. Supervisor Smith wants to do soil borings to find out what is under the pavement, leave what is there and put 6” of gravel on the road and then pave it.
Motion by Smith, supported by Quakenbush, to pay Isabella County Road Commission $6550.00 to do soil borings on Deerfield Rd. from Wise to East County Line Rd.

PAY THE BILLS
Motion by Quakenbush, supported by Huber, to pay the bills.

CYBER INSURANCE
Motion by Quakenbush, supported by VanderKolk, to approve an annual premium of $1511.00 to Par Plan for cyber insurance. It will be prorated to March 1, 2023, for $969.00.

ZBA AND PLANNING COMMISSION TRAINING
Motion by Ash, supported by Huber, to approve ZBA and Planning Commission members to attend a Planning and Zoning workshop at the Mt Pleasant Comfort Inn and purchase four manuals. Registration is $103 per person and manuals are $77.

VanderKolk suggested the township purchase some new entering Chippewa Township signs. She will contact the Road Commission for prices.
