Supervisor Smith called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Motion by VanderKolk, supported by Huber, to approve meeting minutes of May 1, 2023.

TREASURER'S REPORT
Motion by Ash, supported by Huber, to approve the treasurer’s report of June 5, 2023, balance of $1,796,953.98, unavailable $1,472,717.67 and overall balance of $3,269,571.65.

ZONING ADMINISTRATOR TIM BEBEE
Bebee gave his report.
BUCKS RUN SPECIAL USE
Bucks Run requested to add a residential component to their existing golf course. The Planning Commission reviewed it as a special use and site plan request and found that the proposed request and plan met the requirements listed in section 10.3, item 15 of the ordinance.
Motion by VanderKolk, supported by Huber, to approve Bucks Run special use request for the residential component on the existing golf course.

ISABELLA COUNTY HAZARDS MITIGATION PLAN
Isabella County has recently gone through the process of updating the county’s hazard mitigation plan. It has been approved by FEMA and the Isabella County Board of Commissioners. By adopting the plan, Chippewa Township will be covered under it, therefore, eligible to seek reimbursement in the event of a disaster.
Motion by Ash, supported by Huber, to adopt Chippewa Township Resolution 2023-11 supporting participation of the all hazards multi-jurisdictional mitigation planning process and adoption of the all hazards multi-jurisdictional mitigation plan.

SHEPHERD ROAD
Motion by Ash, supported by Huber, to approve an overlay on Shepherd Road from M-20 to River Rd. Total cost $187,789.92. Chippewa Township’s share $50,000.00, 2% share $112,789.92 and Isabella County Road Commission’s share $25,000.00.

PARKING LOT
Parking lot was tabled. ZA Bebee will do a site plan.
FIREHALL SEPTIC
Septic system at the firehall has failed. The township will need a perk test and application from the health department. ZA Bebee will talk to the health department.
Motion by Ash, supported by VanderKolk, to pay up to $500 for a septic system permit.

MTA DUES
Motion by Ash, supported by VanderKolk, to pay $2109.42 for Michigan Township Association annual dues, which includes $78.92 for the legal defense fund.
