REGULAR MEETING OF THE CHIPPEWA TOWNSHIP BOARD

September 6, 2022

Supervisor Smith called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Present: Rob Smith, Fran Ash, Kathy VanderKolk, Michelle Quakenbush, Gail Huber.

PREVIOUS MINUTES

Motion by Quakenbush, supported by Huber, to approve regular meeting minutes of August 1, 2022.
Motion carried.

TREASURER'S REPORT

Motion by Ash, supported by Quakenbush, to approve the treasurer’s report of Sept. 5, 2022, balance of $2,185,444.28 and overall balance of $3,050,937.10.
Roll call vote—Yes: Smith, Quakenbush, Huber, VanderKolk, Ash; No: None.
Motion unanimously carried.

NEW BUSINESS

ZONING ADMINSTRATOR – TIM BEBEE

Bebee stated there was a public meeting for the campground ordinance and it has been passed on to the township’s attorney. It will go the county this week and then to the township board.

Roads and improper drainage around Camelot Lake were discussed. Property owners would like some help from the township. Supervisor Smith will contact the Isabella County Road Commission.

Bebee received a complaint regarding a vacant lot on Bellevue Dr. No one is mowing the property and neighbors can’t see to pull out of their driveways. He will send a letter to the property owner.

Motion by Huber, supported by Quakenbush, to pay the bills.
Roll call vote—Yes: VanderKolk. Smith, Ash, Huber, Quakenbush; No: None.  
Motion unanimously carried.

FIREHALL LIGHTS

Supervisor Smith stated the lights in the firehall need replaced. He received an estimate of $3800 for materials and labor for lights to be replaced with LEDs and motion sensors.
Motion by Ash, supported by Quakenbush, to pay Kelvin Fisher $3800 for materials and labor to replace the lights in the firehall.
Roll call vote—Yes: Huber, Quakenbush, VanderKolk, Ash, Smith; No: None.
Motion unanimously approved.

Trustee Quakenbush stated that she will be resigning from the Township Board, Planning Commission and Fire Board as of December 31st.
