REGULAR MEETING OF THE CHIPPEWA TOWNSHIP BOARD
September 5, 2023
Clerk Ash called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Motion by Huber, supported by VanderKolk, to approve meeting minutes of August 7, 2023.
Motion carried.
TREASURER'S REPORT
Motion by Ash, supported by Huber, to approve the treasurer’s report of Sept. 5, 2023, balance of $1,772,722.05, unavailable $1,479,319.69 and overall balance of $3,252,041.74.

Motion unanimously approved.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS
PARKING LOT
ZA Bebee submitted the design plan to MDOT. He is waiting for comments.
FIREHALL SEPTIC
ZA Bebee met with the health department. He will pay for the permit and put in for reimbursement.
NEW BUSINESS
ZONING ADMINISTRATOR TIM BEBEE
ZA Bebee gave his update.
FEE SCHEDULE
ZA Bebee gave the board estimates for hours, labor, etc. for issuing permits. The board will look it over and decide what changes should be made to current fees.
EARLY VOTING CONSOLIDATION
The Isabella County Clerk has agreed to a countywide early voting plan consolidation for the 9-day early voting. The participating townships will pay an annual $2500.00 administration fee. The County Clerk will schedule all public testing, order precinct kits, place ads, train and hire election workers, order all tabulators, poll books and all supplies, pay for security officer, handle all FOIA requests, print, stamp, and mail cards to voters alerting them to location. The township will still pay for testing, programming, postage, post cards and precinct kits.
Motion by Ash, supported by Huber, to consolidate with the county-wide 9-day early voting.

Motion by Ash, supported by VanderKolk, to approve Clerk Ash to sign the 9-day early voting consolidation agreement.

FIREHALL INSULATION
Motion by Ash, supported by Huber, to pay G.E. Insulation $14,200 to insulate the firehall with two inches of foam insulation.

BUDGET AMENDMENT
Motion by Ash, supported by VanderKolk, to amend budget line item firehall building improvement by $15,000.00.

GENERATOR
Generator was tabled until next month due to absence of the supervisor.
